Facebook Marketing Tips

Below are 4 Facebook Marketing Tips to help you to get your business moving and develop a presence on Facebook.

There are many Social Media platforms out there but the largest is Facebook.  Facebook is a worldwide phenomenon but the fact is that most people don’t have a clue how to use it for their business.  Most people have heard of Facebook the social media site site but how does it work and what could it possible do for your business?

Well for the online businesses, it can mean that everything is under one online roof.  Your contacts, your business profile, your business groups, any targeted prospects you have built up, all social media applications, all in one place and easily accessible. Facebook provides an amazing opportunity to share information and develop further business connections through networking with other people and businesses.

Facebook is a tried and tested marketing platform and with half a billion users (it’s big).  Without doubt it has the potential to generate staggering amounts of traffic and revenue provided you use it correctly.

In my Facebook Marketing Tips you will discover 4 strategies that you can use to help you to successfully market on Facebook.

1. Create a Professional Profile

People are looking to see what kind of person you are what you look like, what your story is, what your interests are, If you have a family and what your expertise is.  If they look at your interests and see that you like hiking or reading books for instance and you show them some pictures of you hiking or make some comments about the books you are reading or have read they will start relate to you.  If you put your best Facebook Profile forward, they will see you as a human being an individual they can relate to and someone who has something to offer.  By looking at your profile they feel they know more about you, this is why it’s so important to set it up exactly right.  On the other hand if they see crazy pictures of you drunk or worse they will not be overly impressed and not be too keen to make friends, become a fan or enter in to an online relationship.

2. Update Your Facebook Wall With Quality Posts

Try to avoid mundane boring meaningless posts, keep it upbeat informative and bursting with quality information.  You need to strike a balance between the provision of quality information and making sure your personality and character shows through.  Always have this question in the back of your mind is this information benefiting my customer/prospect and adding value to their experience?  Striking this balance seems daunting at first but becomes easier over time.

3. Avoid Over-Promoting Products & Services

Don’t spam your customer/prospects/friends with promotional information they don’t deserve it.  I remember one day getting 10 posts for a certain company in less than an hour they were all from the same person promoting the same business opportunity.  In the end I blocked their information and I stopped connecting with them.  They effectively lost a prospective customer for ever but not only that they also lost a possible connection with friends that I was connected to or would be connect to in the future.

Instead, try to work out a ratio for posting which incorporates a mixture of informational posts and promotional posts.  It’s hard to say what would be right for you as I don’t know your business or your market place but gauge it to ensure that the balance is right and beware people will not tolerate being spammed they will vote with their mouse and block you.

4. Use Facebook pages and Groups to explode the number of customers and prospects you can attract.

Creating a Facebook Page and subscribing to Facebook Groups is a must for your online business.  Obviously the page and the groups must be related to the niche you are in and you need to be looking for like minded individuals to connect with.   In order to get the most out of your Facebook fan page and Facebook groups you need to ensure that you are contributing to the discussion and sharing your opinions  and ideas within your chosen niche.  Once again this gets better with practice the more you do the better you get.

If your comments and posts are deemed constructive and you present your business in an interesting and professional light to your audience you will definitely get views.  After a short time your credibility will be established and your content trusted.  Which will lead to more enquiries and in the end more prospects and sales.

These Facebook Marketing Tips will help you to develop you Facebook presence and grow your business.   Facebook can be an amazing opportunity for those who are prepared to learn how it works and how to how to use it to best effect either socially or within their business.
